Present continuous (I am doing)
현재 진행형
Am/is/are + -ing
She is driving to work.
She is driving now, at the time of speaking.
The action is not finished.
He's having a shower.
Are you enjoying the party?
What's going on? (= What's happening?)
I am doing something.
= I'm in the middle of doing it.
I've started doing it and I haven't finished.
Sometimes the action is not happening at the time of speaking.
I'm reading a really good book at the moment.
He is not reading the book at the time of speaking.
He means that he has started it, but has not finished it yet.
He is in the middle of reading it.
today / this week / this year...(periods around now)과 함께 쓰임
특히 아래 동사들과 함께 쓰임
when we talk about changes happening around now.
get / change / become / increase / rise /
fall / grow / improve / begin / start
Is your English getting better?
At first I didn't like my job, but I'm beginning to enjoy it now.

Present simple (I do)
현재형
Drive(s) / work(s) / do(es)
Tom is a bus driver, but now he's in bed asleep. He is not driving a bus.
→ He drives a bus. (He is a bus driver.)
We use the present simple to talk about things in general and
to say that something happens all the time or prepeatedly,
or that something is true in general.
Nurses look after patients in hospitals.
I usually go away at weekends.
We use do/does to make questions and negative sentences.
What does this word mean?
I come from Korea. Where do you come from?
Rice doesn't grow in cold climates.
We use it to say how often we do things.
I get up at 7 o'clock every morning.

Present continuous vs present simple (I am doing and I do)

(I do) Things in general or things that happen repeatedly. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. Excuse me, do you speak English? What do you usually do at weekends? I always get hungry in the afternoon. Use for permanent situations. My parents live in London. They've lived there all their lives. Tom isn't lazy. He works hard most of the time. |
(I'm always doing) I'm always doing something I'm always losing things = I lose things very often, perhaps too often, or more often than normal. |

과거형은 규칙 동사일 경우 대부분 '동사원형 -ed'로 끝나요

불규칙 동사일 경우 -ed로 끝나지 않아요
I went to the cinema three times last week.
It was cold, so I shut the window.
질문이나 부정형 문장 : did/didn't + 동사원형
'Did you go out last night?' 'Yes, I went to the cinema, but I didn't enjoy the film much.'
They didn't invite us to the party, so we didn't go.

do가 메인 동사로 쓰이는 경우도 있어요

be(am / is / are)의 과거형 : was / were
질문이나 부정형 문장에서 did를 was / were과 함께 쓰지 않아요
