영국 영어와 미국 영어의 차이점에 대해
공부해볼 거예요~
호주는 호주 영어가 따로 있지만
영어 발음과 표기에서
미국 영어보다 영국 영어와 매우 비슷해요!
그러니 영국 영어를 알고 호주에 가면 좋겠죠?
British vs American English
* Many verbs ending in -ise in British English (apologise / organise etc.) are spelt with -ize in American English (apologize / organize).

Will or shall can be used with I / we. I will/shall be late this evening. Shall I...? and shall we...? are used to ask for advice etc. Which way shall we go? |
Shall is unusual. I will be late this evening. Should I...? and should we...? are more usual to ask for advice etc. Which way should we go? |
British speakers use can't to say they believe something is not probable. Tom hasn't contacted me. He can't have got my message. |
American speakers use must not in this situation. Tom hasn't contacted me. He must not have gotten my message. |
You can use needn't or don't need to. We needn't hurry. / We don't need to hurry. |
Needn't is unusual. The usual form is don't need to. We don't need to hurry. |
After insist, demand etc. you can use should. I insisted that he should apologise. Many people are demanding that something should be done about the problem. |

Accommodation is usually uncountable. There isn't enough accommodation. |

Nouns like government / team / family etc. can have a singular or plural verb. The team is/are playing well. |
